Dr. Alexander Chessman grew up in a college town in the middle of Ohio, spent about 10 years in and around Boston, and returned to Ohio for medical school. He moved to Charleston to complete his training in family medicine at MUSC in 1985, and he's stayed there since then. He is married with two grown children. He enjoys helping patients strive for wellness and prevent illness. Sometimes, problems just happen, and catching these problems early is important. Managing chronic illnesses can be complicated and confusing; he will try to give patients choices that make sense and fit into their needs and wishes.
